This book is the first in the Elric series. It was very short, which is not usual for fantasy books these days. That's probably because it was written in the early 70's. It was kind of nice not to have a 500+ (usually more like 1000) for once. This wasn't the best fantasy I've read, but it was very good. It didn't feel dated at all, like some of the books I've read that were written so long ago. The characters were interesting, and I liked the book well enough to want to continue on with the series. I give it a B.
