Well, I tasted a plum from the tree. It was edible, in the same way a lemon is edible. I'm hoping it's just not all the way ripe, though. We'll give it a couple more weeks and see.
Ya, I bet it just isn't ripe yet. I am sure you remember Eldeen (not sure on the spellling), she had a plum tree and the fruit was a real dark purple almost black color when it was ripe. And they were really good too! Hopefully you aren't poisoned and the fruit starts tasting better.
