San Diego
We went to San Diego for the weekend. I forgot to take my camera, so there will be no pictures (which I am very bummed about). We got there Friday evening, which was later than I wanted to get there, but what can you do? We went to Old Town and walked around a little bit. And then we ate at Cafe Coyote (I think it was called). The food wasn't that great--I was expecting a lot better. We also stopped at the Mormon Battalion museum, and watched a little movie they had there. That was really all we had time for on Friday night.
On Saturday we went to the San Diego zoo. It was fun to go, but really tiring. It has a lot of hills, and by the end of the day I was sore all over. The kids seemed to enjoy it, although Kevin fell asleep about halfway through the day, and wouldn't wake up no matter what we tried. My favorite part was the monkeys/apes, especially the orangutans. There were some baby ones, and they would hold on by wrapping their arms and legs around the mom. It was so cute!
After the zoo, we went to dinner at Applebees, and it was very good. Then we went to the Fashion Valley mall. We didn't have a whole lot of time there, but I got to go to the one store that mattered, Bath and Body Works. I'm really addicted to their stuff, thanks to my friend E, who got me started with the Sweet Pea line, and then it snowballed from there.
Sunday was Kaitlyn's cheerleading competition. Her squad did well, but we're not sure if they placed, because we left early. At 1:30 we realized they weren't even halfway through, and we couldn't stay there until it was done to see the awards, because we still had the long drive back. So we left and headed home. And that was it. When I was planning the trip, I was thinking we'd have time to do a lot more than we did, but it was still a good time. We all came home very tired, though.

Some more Ethan
Here are a few more pictures of Ethan. This one he was in the swing with his hand raised:
And these two were in his jumper, which we tried out for the first time a couple of days ago:
3 months old today!
Ethan is 3 months old today! Time is just flying. He has laughed a few times. The first time he laughed was when Troy was "eating" his stomach, and his whiskers were tickling him. He hasn't rolled over yet, but he's getting close. He usually only tries it when he's on the changing table. He sleeps really good, and is a sweet baby. Hardly ever cries and is really content.

I love my Dad
I've been looking through some pictures that I had on my computer and found this one from last Christmas. It's one of my favorite pictures. It's me and my Dad, and then on his shoulders is Olivia (my niece) and Kevin is in the stroller. It was really cold that night, but it was fun to be out with family. Also, I just like the picture cause it's me and my Dad, and I love him a lot!

Mad and messy
This is an old picture of Kevin, but I just wanted to put it in here cause I love it so much. He was eating chili or taco soup or something like that, and we were taking a picture of him, but he wanted us to get him out, so he was really mad. This is the look he used to have when he was mad at you.

Gooooooo Burros
Kaitlyn had her cheer competition last Sunday. They did really well, and got second place, which means we'll be driving down to San Diego the day after Thanksgiving. She really loves cheerleading, and does well.

Cloth Diapers
I love cloth diapers! They are just so adorable and fun (not to mention better for the baby and the environment). I can't wait to get the custom diaper I ordered. It's gonna be sooooooo cute. Here's a picture of Ethan with his cute little bubble bum. It's my least favorite color of his diapers, though.
Silly kids
One of Kaitlyn and Kevin's favorite things to do is pretend they crashed their bikes. Well, mostly Kevin, but Kaitlyn plays too. And then they want me to take a picture.

Computers--a tool of the devil
Okay, as much as I like computers, and let's face it, that's a lot, I also hate them. I don't understand viruses, and why anyone would be such a low human being that they'd create them. I also don't understand why someone can't just invent a stinkin computer that will work. We are having all kinds of computer problems, and even after reformatting the computer, we've still got 'em. I want to use my computer, but at the same time I want to stay as far away from it as I can, just to save myself from extreme annoyance. That is why I say they are a tool of the devil.

Cutest baby ever
Okay, you really must agree that Ethan is the cutest baby to ever exist. I don't care if you have your own baby. Deep in your heart, you know he really is the cutest. ;) And as much as you want to just eat him up (I know you want to bite those cheeks), you just can't.

Halloween
Here are the pictures from Halloween. The kids had fun. We went to the church for a trunk or treat and carnival. Ethan fell asleep for most of the time, so I put him in the mei tai that Mindy made for me. He looked cute in his little bumble bee costume. Kaitlyn was a medieval queen, and Kevin was a knight.
We got Kevin's costume at the Dollar Tree, so it wasn't that great, but it's what he wanted to be, and it's cheap, and we weren't gonna argue with that. After the trunk or treat, we came home and Troy took the kids out around the neighborhood while I stayed home with Ethan. We didn't have a ton of trick or treaters, but there were enough that I was worried I might run out of candy. And now that's all done, and I can't believe it's November already.

Another season almost done
Kaitlyn is almost done with another cheerleading season, and as much as she likes it, I have to say that I'm relieved. It's a lot of work, and very time consuming. She has 3 nights of practices every week, 2 hours each. And then games on Saturdays that usually take up the whole day if they are away games. The games are done now, but she's got a competition coming up in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure if they'll do as well this year as last year (they won 1st both competitions). To be honest, I don't think their coach is anywhere near as good, and that's why. The second competition is a 2 day thing in San Diego, and I'm not sure if everyone goes, or just those who place at the first competition. We want her to do well, but we also know how hard it would be for us to drive all that way. So we'll see what happens. :)

Best job in the world
Being a mom is probably the hardest thing I'll ever have to do. I rarely have time for myself, and there are times when I'm so tired I can barely function. But it's all worth it when I cuddle with Ethan, or Kevin says something that is so cute or he gives me a big hug and kiss. Or when Kaitlyn sends me a little e-mail telling me I'm the best mom ever.
I love that I get to see all the little things every day. I get to see all of Ethan's firsts. I get to hear all the cute stuff Kevin says (which makes me the translator when Troy gets home). I get to pick Kaitlyn up from school and hear about her day. I love my job! Sure I don't get paid in money, but the experiences I get to have every day with my wonderful kids is worth so much more.

ACK! Some people make me mad!
I was reading the comments to the editor in the most recent issue of Baby Talk magazine, which were in response to the August cover that had a breastfeeding baby on it. I was appalled at some of them. I can't say I was shocked, because I know there are some idiots out there, but they sure did upset me. Here's a small sampling:
"I was shocked to find this pornography in my mailbox . . ."
Are you kidding me? You're trying to tell me I expose my kids and husband to pornography every day when I breastfeed Ethan? It's a baby eating for heaven sakes!
"Let me settle the great breastfeeding-in-public debate: Cover up or do it at home!"
First of all, who the heck is this person to try to tell anyone what to do. Second, I would really, really like to find the woman who wrote this, and go up to her in a restaurant and tell her to cover herself up with a blanket or eat at home. Because that's what she's telling my baby to do, and there is no difference!
And here's my personal favorite, because there is something seriously wrong with this person:
"I think you guys are disgusting for putting that on your front cover. Yes, it may be natural, but we have formula now. Anyone doing it in public should be arrested for indecent exposure. Why can't they put it in bottles or something? I find the picture very offensive."
There are so many things wrong with that I don't even know where to start. Let's start with "we have formula now". Are you telling me I should forego the absolute perfect food for my baby, and go with inferior food so that you can feel comfortable, and so that I'm not "disgusting". And this person says we have formula now, as if that should make breastfeeding obsolete.
And how about "anyone doing it in public should be arrested for indecent exposure". Well then, I sure hope they arrest almost every single person wearing a swimsuit at the beach, or a low-cut blouse, or anything of the sort. Because they're showing a lot more than I ever show when I nurse in public.
And last, "why can't they put it in bottles or something". I find that thought so ridiculous, that I almost don't even know what to say to that. The food is already in it's package, dude! My baby is used to it, he's comfortable with it, it's convenient. Why the heck would I need or want to put the food into a different container? I could go on and on about this, because it's obviously something I feel very passionate about, but I think I've said enough for now.

Kevin's New Obsession
Kevin used to watch Bear in the Big Blue House all day every day (if I let him). So I bought him a Blues Clues movie, and he's loving it. He has a little notebook that he sits there and draws on while he watches it. It's so cute! Maybe this will replace Bear. It's more likely that it'll replace it for a few days, like Robots or The Pacifier did, but we'll always go back to Bear.

2 months!!!
My chunky monkey is 2 months old today. I can't believe how fast time flies. He is smiling so much, and "talking" to me with little hums. He had his 2 month doctor visit, and weighed 13 lbs 5 oz. He's such a sweet baby, and is generally happy and good. The only time he's not good is when he's in the car, which he hates. He can scream for over an hour before he gives up and goes to sleep.
Starting a blog
I can never keep a journal in real life, so since I use the computer so much, I figured maybe I could do one online.
The title of my blog comes from something Kevin always says. I love when he says it. It cracks me up. If he doesn't want something, he'll say "me never like that". And yesterday, Kaitlyn was holding a crayon up in front of Ethan, and Kevin said, "No! Him never like that. Hand me! Hand me!"
